Imagine stepping onto Le Mont-Saint-Michel during an unprecedented time in history; October 2020, when the world stood still. While this medieval marvel typically buzzes with 7,000 daily visitors, the pandemic created an almost mystical experience: we found ourselves among just 25 souls wandering its ancient stones.
In place of the usual tourist crowds, an extraordinary silence filled the halls and corridors of the Abbey. It was as if we had traveled through time itself, experiencing the Mont as pilgrims might have centuries ago. The absence of crowds revealed the true soul of this UNESCO World Heritage site, allowing us to capture its timeless beauty through photography without a single stranger in frame - a photographer's dream that might never occur again in our lifetime.
This rare moment during the pandemic transformed what could have been a crowded disappointment into an almost private audience with one of France's most magnificent monuments.
